International Nursing Studies at Anglia Ruskin University

Based at our Chelmsford campus, our Faculty of Health, Social Care & Education is the largest provider of health and social care courses across eastern England.

This course offers the opportunity to gain a UK Masters degree in Nursing with a focus on the critical understanding of the knowledge required to underpin and change international nursing practice.

All of our courses are taught by teams of dedicated and professional lecturers. Course features

• Improves skills as an increasingly effective practitioner in caring for patients from different backgrounds with complex needs.
• Students will gain the skills to meet the challenges of nursing and health services in international developments.
• Students will visit centres' of excellence with the health and social care arena and study in state-of-the-art clinical skills facilities that have been built in collaboration with our National Health Service (NHS).
• Opportunity to complete the Overseas Nursing Programme, enabling qualified nurses to transfer their skills to the UK healthcare system through placement. Successful completion will lead to registration as a Nurse in the UK. Please note: All entrants require a decision letter from the Nursing and Midwifery Council before enrolling on to the ONP.
• The course is delivered through lectures, seminars and group work.
• We are very enthusiastic about - and proud of - our research and research activity is central to our vision. We specialise in delivering near-market, translational research in partnership with health service providers and educators.

Entry requirements

• Applicants must have a minimum 1 year's post qualified experience of working as a registered nurse within their own country 
• IELTS 7.0 or equivalent, with nothing lower than 7.0 in any of the four elements (listening, speaking, reading and writing)
• Applicants must have a valid decision letter from the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). This will confirm that applicants meet the NMC's minimum requirements for foreign nurses to undertake the Overseas Nursing Programme (ONP). University staff will be available to assist to your applicants with their application after they have registered for the course.
• Applicants will have to pass an Occupational Health Check and be given a clear Criminal Records Bureau check before they are able to access the ONP element of this course. This will be undertaken during the academic part of the course, if students are unsuccessful in either the theoretical part of the course or do not satisfy the health check and the criminal check they will not be eligible to start the ONP.
