Pearson's PTE Academic Test Centre

Education Standard Still High in Nigeria - Experts

Nigerian schools have been rated by experts as still offering quality education to their students, despite the decline in infrastructure and pressure on the existing ones.  They attributed their position to the impressive performance of Nigerian students in foreign universities and examinations conducted by global education bodies.

 

The assertions were made by Nazmina Dedynski, the Director of BCIE upon her visit to Abuja and the opening of the Pearson's PTE Academic Test Centre.  The centre is jointly managed by the 2 organisations to enable Nigerian students seeking admissions into British universities to pass the English language test for foreign students and fast-track their admission.

 

Mrs Dedynski noted that Nigerian students have continued to fare well by scaling the 3 hour test in English even at first attempt with high scores, it was also noted that some Nigerian students conclude the computer based test within 1 hour and still score very high grades.

 

Those who claim that the country's education standard has fallen are not entirely correct, noting that the content of the country's educational curricula was at par with what could be obtained abroad.
