BCIE ltd, in association with the Panju Foundation is delighted to announce the successful donation of Science text books, exercise books and stationary items to Government science secondary school, Jalingo Taraba state, Northern Nigeria in June 2025.
This school has over 5,000 students. This is far above the recommended number of students for a secondary school. This was caused by the lack of schools in the area. The sheer number of students has overwhelmed the state and local government in terms of assistance. The students are forced to sit on floors, share exercise books and simply hope for the best someday. They have also been starved of textbooks, which is the major component of learning. They are indeed starved of proper education according to the standards set by the United Nations millennium development goals objective.
This motivated Panju Foundation of the British-Canadian International Education (BCIE) to donate those items. The foundation was informed that ‘nobody had ever remembered them like we did’. BCIE Ltd and Panju Foundation is committed to improving the quality of life in communities across the countries it operates.
BCIE ltd, in association with the Panju Foundation is delighted to announce the successful donation of student desks to College of Education Demonstration Primary school (also known as Shell camp primary school) Owerri, Imo state, Southern Nigeria in June 2025.
This school is ravaged by lack of sitting desks for its students. These students are between ages 6 to 11 years. Appalling pictures and videos emerged of the dire situation caused by neglect from appropriate authorities. By sitting on the bare floor during classes, they had their school uniforms dirty, and also faced other health hazards.
Whilst receiving the new desks, the head mistress and the teachers were in a celebratory mood. They had not expected such intervention, as they had suffered for so long without adequate desks for the students. BCIE Ltd and Panju Foundation is committed to improving the quality of life in communities across the countries it operates.
BCIE ltd, in association with Panju Foundation is delighted to announce the successful donation of student desks to Ubegu Primary School, Akaeze, Ivo LGA, Ebonyi state, Southern Nigeria in June 2025.
This school is in a rural area and mostly with children aged 5-12 years old. They sit on the floor during classes. The rural setting has made it impossible for their parents to afford the furniture they need for their effective schooling as the local authorities have not supplied these items. The school head teacher emphasised the need for desks irrespective that they have other areas of need that are glaring. They are indeed starved of proper education according to the standards set by the United Nations millennium development goals objective.
This motivated Panju Foundation of the British-Canadian International Education (BCIE) to donate this item. BCIE Ltd and Panju Foundation is committed to improving the quality of life in communities across the countries it operates.
With a BICE Ltd grant of £3,200, the Mustard Seed Project at Miche Bora has enabled the school to purchase the resources needed to retain the children at Miche Bora for an additional three years.
A recent change in the curriculum, and a reorganisation by the government, meant that children were to leave primary school at 12 years rather than 14. They then attend a Junior Secondary School until the age of 15. This was disastrous for our deprived children, who joined a class of one hundred students in a temporary corrugated iron building with few resources. At Miche Bora, the class size is thirty.
Through the grant, they were able to add storage and a sink, and purchase all the required equipment and resources for the science curriculum, including lab coats and textbooks for the children. The parents are also delighted that their children can remain at the school, as they really value the education their children receive at Miche Bora.
BCIE ltd, in association with the Panju Foundation is delighted to announce the successful funding of a borehole project in Amuzu, Ubegu, Iyioji Akaeze, Ivo Local Government, Ebonyi State of Nigeria. They had suffered cholera disease and other waterborne diseases over the years majorly due to lack of potable water and poor hygiene. Their only source of water used to be Iyioji River, which they drank and used for domestic purposes. In dry season, they faced acute water problem because the stream usually produced odour and looked very dirty.
This motivated Panju Foundation of the British-Canadian International Education (BCIE) to sink a borehole for them to ameliorate water scarcity and scourge of cholera outbreak. The four boreholes the community had, were not functional because they were sunk where there was no water. Panju Foundation sunk theirs where they found water in good volume.
